Charter and Installation Day 2015 News Story

Packed with enormous amount of determination to change the world to a better place, Beaconhouse Sri Inai International school started off the club with the guidance and constant back up by the Rotary Club of Petaling Jaya. The students took steps right on our quest of achieving our motto ‘Service above Self’, which happened to be the motto of all other 7 Interact Clubs that have been existing for over 30 years in the Klang Valley.

The organizing chairperson gave his key note address thanking everyone for working hard to make the event a reality. The Deputy Principal of Beaconhouse Sri Inai International School (BSIIS), Ms Leonie Cooper gave her speech addressing on how the journey started and has grown so far and will continue to grow. Melody Lim, a student from Year 8 from BSIIS then stole the attention with her violin piece entitled ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’. After that, the now President of Rotary Club of Petaling Jaya, Ms Rianne Chin gave her speech on how particularly impressed she was with the Interactors of Beaconhouse Sri Inai International school. She also added that the Interactors of the school will need to continue the momentum they have now to change the community then the world into a better place so that the fire of determination will be kept lit at all times.

The highlight of the event started soon after that with the line-up of the 2014/2015 Chartered Board of Directors led by the President, Mr Cham Jia Ming. The Immediate Past President (IPP) of Rotary Club of Petaling Jaya, Dato’ Seri Dr Krishnamurthy then was invited to install the Board of Directors of BSIIS. Mr Cham then gave his very first and last Presidential speech.

After that, the Board of Directors stepped down and made way to the 2015/2016 Board of Directors for the Interact Club of BSIIS. The current Board is led by Mr Denzel Manuel.

After the newly installed Board took their seats in the office, a cake cutting ceremony took place before the presentation of mementoes. The day ended beautifully with much praises and applause by the VIPs, guests of honor, visitors and students. Puan zarina sadik And Puan Liza Netto also graced the occasion to support the students.

Efforts of Ms Jacqueline Adward the Teacher Adviser in organizing the event were visible throughout the event.
