Lahore: Deputy Manager English Curriculum Mrs Tabassum Murtaza has received a gold medal for graduating top of her class with a Master's degree (2010-12) in Educational Leadership and Management from Beaconhouse National University. It is the third postgraduate programme she has completed so far. "Setting benchmarks for teacher training in English Curriculum has been the driving force behind my aspiration to excel in the degree programme," she said.
Mrs Murtaza started out as an English Language Teacher at Garden Town Campus in 1987, where she also served as the Senior Mistress and the Acting Headmistress. After a short break, she returned to work at the Head Office as a member of the English Curriculum Group and later served as the Regional Coordinator for English for the Central Region for seven years. She also served as Deputy Manager Academic Support for the Central Region in the last academic year, along with fulfilling her core responsibilities of monitoring and training for Primary English Curriculum and as a Teacher Trainer for award-bearing courses.
During this time, she completed the Certificate in Professional Studies in Education (CIPSIE) from Bradford University, a Diploma in English Language Teaching (ELT), the Advanced Diploma on Language and Learning from Bradford University, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Professional Studies (PGCert) from the University of Exeter.
Mrs Murtaza has now enrolled in a one-year Cambridge programme on Diploma in Teaching with Information Communication Technology (DTWICT).
